Livonia, Michigan

Our stay in Livonia, Michigan has been quite pleasant. Livonia is considered to be a part of the Detroit metro area. To me, it seems to be a business area and it is quiet and clean. It is due west of Detroit. The weather is beautiful and the area seems update and modern.

We arrived on Friday, May 30th. After checking into the hotel we drove over to Ann Arbor to scope out my son’s summer dwelling on the University of Michgan.
We we returned we went to Buffalo Wild Wings. I had boneless wings with two sauces: Asian Spice and Wasabi. It was my first time there and it was fabulous.

On Saturday morning, we dined deckside near the pool for breakfast. The weather was perfect — a bright and breezy spring morning. We then went for our journey to the Upper Peninsula.

Chicken Marsala at Bravo! Cucina Italiano

Saturday evening, we decided on something new: Bravo! Cucina Italiana. Corban had lasagna and I had my traditional Chicken Marsala. The delight of my dinner was the side of potatoes, as previously I was served angelhair pasta. We met the chef, Randy, the manager, Robert and our server, Nathan. They offered gratis dessert [our wait time was long] and Corban selected chocolate cake and I selected chocolate berry bread pudding ala mode. We got Roderick his favorite Fetticine Alfredo for take out.

As we were leaving we got one more surprise, they asked if we would a to-go dessert; They served us two servings of tiramasu! Yum! Yum!

The dinner was exqusite and I am so thankful for the opportunity to go.

Tiny location; Gigantic flavor.
Love the locals!

On Sunday, June 1st, we enjoyed some local fare. I cruised around TRIP ADVISOR and found a recommended local place called “Bates Burgers”. Wow! They serve freshly made-to-order sliders. I ordered a hamburger and a chiliburger. My son got two cheeseburgers. I highly recommend. Simple menu and simple business model.  There was another local restaurant that we wanted to try — Thomas Family Restauant — but we couldn’t get there before they closed. Bates was a delightful 2nd choice.

The view outside our hotel overlooked a pond with canadian geese. They were a joy to observe. We were on 6 mile Road near Schoolcraft College and College Parkway.
