Atop Lookout Mountain

One of my all-time favorite places is the view atop Lookout Mountain, Tennessee. It is a quiet and tucked away place – elevated a mile high from the bustling city of Chattanooga, Tennessee below. The scope is vast and endless: a place you could spend hours just gazing. I ascended this view via the Incline Railway, which self-describes as “world’s steepest passenger railway”. It is a one-way up; one-way down railcar that inches its way to this  glorious escape.

The Incline Railway inches up to the top of Lookout Mountain granting a glorious view from a mile high from the city below.

I enjoy participating in the Weekly Photo Challenge hosted by the Daily Post; this week’s theme is ATOP; Writers are encouraged to share a story from a vista high in the sky.
