One of my favorite movie quotes is from A Bugs Life (1998). The Ants were given a deadline. They were told their deadline occurs “When the Last Leaf Falls”. I often think of that movie quote in the autumn of the year as leaves rapidly make their way to the ground.  I thought of that movie quote this week when I saw this barren tree. While its current state of November leaflessness is temporary, the tree provides a rich and colorful contrast against the autumn sky. I enjoy participating in the Weekly Photo Challenge hosted by The Daily Post. This week’s challenge is “Temporary”

I love the beauty of a leafless tree against the autumn sky
A leafless tree
This tree reminds me of a quote from the 1998 movie “A Bugs Life”. The antagonist Hopper gave the Ants a deadline–which ended “When the Last Leaf Falls

While writing this post, I discovered Lucas King’s recording of “The Last Leaf Falls” and it is a fitting accompaniment to the photos
